Your challenge is to fill someone’s bucket this week.  Please send me an email at kabose@educbe.ca with information about how you filled someone’s bucket. I will write your information on a sticky note and put it up on my wall!  I would also like to know how you get your bucket filled!  I hope to have my whole board filled up! I will post a picture next week!  Keep checking my blog!

Hello Vista Heights Students!

I hope you are all doing well! I thought I would put up a message on my blog for you! Each week I will post a video for you to watch. It might be a story, a problem that needs to be solved, or a message to tell you how much we miss you! I can’t wait until I can see you again, and have Vista Heights School full again!

Love
Mrs. Bose

                     Principal's Update

Dear Vista Heights Families:

As we are adjusting to our new way of teaching and learning, I want to express my thanks for your patience and continued support.  Students, teachers, and school administration have been working hard to find way to ensure learning at home is working for everyone. We recognize the uncertainty and stress that the Covid-19 pandemic has created, and we remain focused on ensuring that students feel cared for, respected and the learning continues. Please know that as a school we value the relationships we have established with our Vista Heights community and will work actively to do our best to support our learners.  We understand that families may be experiencing different stresses and challenges through this unprecedented time, and there are resources to support families. There is information on the cbe website www.cbe.ab.ca.
Please feel free to contact me if you are requiring assistance.

Easter Good Friday ClipartPlease note that Friday, April 10th is Good Friday and Monday, April 13th is identified as a Non-Instructional Day, and teachers will be involved in professional learning for the day.  For both days, teachers will not be available during those days through email.  The Weekly Learning Schedule will be emailed to parents prior to the weekend so you may have some time to review before learning begins on Tuesday.

Clipart Professional Development For TeachersThese conditions are temporary, and I know that by working together, we'll get through these challenging times.  We are here to support you in any way we can. And as always if you have questions or concerns, please feel free to email me at kabose@cbe.ab.ca

Video Message from our Principal — Community Christian School
Dear Vista Heights Families:

I hope this message finds you well as we work together to navigate these challenging times. I wanted to send you a quick note so that you would be informed about the continuation of learning for your children.

This week teachers have been very busy learning new technologies that they are excited to share with their students.  This is a new way of teaching and learning for teachers, students and families. We will navigate through this process together.  Please know that we are here to support students and families while we all learn together.

The students in Kindergarten – Grade 2 will be using their Blogs, (which the students are familiar with) as their main technological platform. The learning plan will be posted on the blog.  Teachers will be communicating with students and families via phone and email. Since the teachers are working remotely, when they call it will come up as Private Caller or No Caller ID.

The students in Grade 3-6 will be learning a new digital platform, called Google Classroom.  There is information to follow about Google Classroom. Teachers will be communicating with students and families via phone and email to ensure they are able to access the Google Classroom. Since the teachers are working remotely, when they call it will come up as Private Caller or No Caller ID.

Mrs. Bose will also be adding to the Principal Blog, by posting a message each week and reading a story. There may even be a ‘fun’ activity for students to engage in!

All teachers have been able to reach most families via email and phone calls to check in.  Please call the school if you have not received and email or phone call from your child’s teacher, and we will work to connect you.

We are aware that some families will require paper packages for their learning.  We are working on a safety protocol to keep families’ safe, and we will let you know the process we are following for distribution of paper packages.

This is a new way of teaching and learning.  Please reach out to your child’s teacher if you have questions, concerns, or if you need support as we embark upon this new journey together.

Kind regards,

Karen
